Вышла новая версия программы для интернет-общения Skype. Два главных нововведения версии 3.1 – опции SkypeFind and Skype Prime (пока что бета). SkypeFind предоставляет пользователям возможность оставлять и находить информацию о различных фирмах, предприятиях и учреждениях. Разработчики позиционируют SkypeFind как онлайновый "живой" справочник, по которому любой член сообщества Skype может справиться, скажем, о том, в какой ресторан лучше всего пойти во Франции

Второе нововведение релиза 3.1 – опция Skype Prime, благодаря которой пользователи устанавливать плату за входящее звонки на свой аккаунт. При этом, деньги снимаются со счета Skype Credit звонящего, а тот, кому звонят, получает 70 процентов от этих средств на свой аккаунт в системе PayPal.

Представители Skype говорят, что эта функция была одной из наиболее часто запрашиваемых пользователям, особенно после запуска сервиса SkypeOut в 2004 году. Услуга Skype Prime ориентирована, прежде всего, на бизнес-пользователей, которые раньше могли принимать платные звонки только на городские телефоны, что ограничивало сферу деятельности одной страной.

В последнем релизе исправлена ошибка в API (команда OPEN CHAT не работала). Также возникала ошибка при добавлении в профиль изображения в формате png. Кроме этого, при открытии окна общего чата при некоторых обстоятельствах возникала слишком сильная загрузка процессора
